The genus Astraeodes comprises of a single species - areuta.
Astraeodes areuta is found in Brazil, Ecuador and Peru.
Habitats
This is a rainforest species found at altitudes between about 200-1000m.

Adult behaviour

This species is scarce during the early part of the dry season but can be found in good numbers in July and August, when males can be found mud-puddling at seepages and at the edge of streams in undisturbed areas of rainforest.
