Introduction
 
Although this species looks superficially similar to Grass moths of the family Crambidae, I believe it to be a Footman moth, genus Agylla, from the family Arctiidae.
 
Habitats
 
This species was photographed at an altitude of 2950m, at Wayqecha research station, a stunted cloudforest habitat at the puna/cloudforest transition zone at the edge of Manu national park in the eastern Andes.
 
Lifecycle
 
The larvae of Footman moths feed on lichens.
 
Adult behaviour

 

This species is attracted in numbers to UV light.
