The species name nervosa refers to the black "nerves" or veins on the wings.
 
Habitats
 
This species is found in mid-elevation cloudforest in the eastern Andes.

The moths are attracted to fluorescent lighting.

 

Arctiid moths are equipped with organs in the thorax which are used to produce sounds that have been demonstrated to deter bat attack.
