Introduction

This is one of several species attracted to tungsten lighting at Manu cloudforest, altitude 1400m. All of the species were between circa 4 - 6cms wingspan, and all had similar banding across the forewings. Some species had just a single ocellus on the hindwing, but others, which appeared to be related, had a row of 3 or 4 ocelli. All rested with wings outspread. Most rested head-downwards.
