Epitausa or very closely related genus, Rio Madre de Dios, 400m, Peru.

Introduction

I cannot be certain that I have identified this species correctly, but the "mickey mouse" stigma on the forewings, the dark median line, and the distinctive wavy series of tiny dots on the outer part of the wings strongly suggests that this is an Epitausa species.

Habitats

Photographed at Cocha Camunga on the Rio Madre de Dios in Peru, at an altitude of about 400m.

Lifecycle

To be completed.

Adult behaviour
